Joomla! 3.0, Accessibility and semantics
One strength of the Joomla community of frontend and UI developers has been that accessibility and its implications for web sites was an acknowledged requirement do their best to consider accessibility guidelines every day.
For many years I talked at conferences about accessibility, but lately it seemed to be unnecessary. The community has moved a great deal forward in terms of accessibility and people have increasingly had an open ear on accessibility issues. However, I am concerned that accessibility is now receiving less attention.

I receive the Joomla! Open Source Creative and Artistic Recognition Award.
I have been awarded the Joomla Open Source Creative and Artistic Recognition Award (J!OSCAR). The Joomla community, consisting of thousands of developers that have helped make Joomla one of the world’s most popular content management systems (CMS) used for everything from websites to blogs to Intranets, awarded me for the best template.
I received the award at the 2012 J and Beyond Conference being held May 18-20 2012 at the Dolce Hotel in Bad Nauheim, Germany. The J and Beyond Conference is the Joomla community’s largest international conference.
“The J!OSCAR Awards are given to the very best talent in the Joomla community and we are proud to recognize Angie Radtke ,” said Victor Drover, who oversaw this year’s J!OSCAR awards and is part of the Joomla Events team. “Without their contribution, Joomla wouldn’t be able to grow like it has.”
Thanks to everybody who helped me.
